Is it actually safe to use red light therapy near my eyes?

Yes. when used as directed. Red light therapy glasses are designed with eye-safe LED diodes that emit therapeutic wavelengths (typically 630–660nm) without UV radiation or harmful blue light. Unlike lasers, the LEDs operate at low irradiance levels that are well within safe limits for periorbital use. We still recommend keeping your eyes closed or lightly shut during sessions as a comfort measure, and never staring directly into the lights.

How long does it take to see results?

Most people notice reduced puffiness and a brighter under-eye area within 2–3 weeks of daily use. More significant results — improved skin texture, reduced fine lines, and diminished dark circles — typically develop over 4–8 weeks of consistent sessions. Red light therapy works by stimulating your skin's natural collagen production and circulation, so results build gradually and compound over time. Consistency matters more than session length.

How often should I use them, and for how long per session?

Daily use for 10 minutes per session is the recommended protocol. More is not better. Red light therapy follows a dose-response curve, meaning too much exposure can actually reduce effectiveness. One daily 10-minute session gives your cells the optimal amount of stimulation to trigger repair and collagen synthesis without overloading them. You can use them morning or night, though many people prefer evening as part of a wind-down skincare routine.

Can I use these alongside my existing skincare products?

Yes, and it actually enhances your routine. Red light therapy temporarily increases cell permeability, which means applying a serum or eye cream immediately after your session allows active ingredients to absorb more effectively. Start with clean, dry skin before your session — no products on first. After, apply your usual eye cream, hyaluronic acid, or vitamin C serum as normal. One exception: if you use retinol or strong exfoliating acids, apply those on separate evenings to avoid potential irritation.
